About this Event

C.G. Jung described the outbreak of a neurosis as an attempt at self-cure: “It is an attempt of the self-regulating psychic system to restore balance, in no way different from the function of dreams.”  We know a lot about the burden of the wounds that we carry and how we struggle with them. Personality disorders, from a social point of view, are perceived as something dysfunctional. However, Fiann asks the provocative question: How to approach and address this attempt specifically when we are dealing with individuals who contribute through their neurosis? Perhaps this neurosis was the driving force which set many remarkable individuals on their mission to contribute to the development of our civilization.

ABOUT FIANN PAUL, IAAP:  Fiann Paul is an exceptional human being in every way – a modern-day Renaissance man and well versed in examples of such individuals.  His unique approach to life, bringing together physical, artistic, and intellectual excellence, has raised attention and has been described as Arete: the ancient Greek concept of multipotential development.  Fiann completed his Depth Psychology studies at C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich and is one of the most multi-faceted Jungians. He has received fellowships at several Royal Societies and has lectured at notable venues such as the House of Commons in London. More so, as an explorer, he has lived on every continent on the planet and has led some of the world’s most challenging expeditions as an award-winning athlete. With four degrees already, he is pursuing an interdisciplinary PhD in the field of Leadership. He will be bringing a deeply holistic Jungian approach to the idea of wounds as gifts.
